A. Jolene McCullough

A. Jolene McCullough, 95, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday evening at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Gallitzin, the daughter of the late Isadore and Esther (Harvey) Bender.

Jolene married Kenneth G. McCullough on May 24, 1952 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Gallitzin and he preceded her in death on August 7, 1995.

She is survived by her son, Gregory McCullough (Christine) and daughter, Lorraine Roth all of Altoona; four grandchildren: Grant, Derek, Ashley and Chase McCullough (Alyssa) and one great-grandchild, Maverick.

Jolene was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wayne Roth; four brothers: Russell, Francis, Paul and Leo Bender; also, three sisters: Ruth Gabriel, Edna Deibert and Rose Bender.

She was a 1947 graduate of Gallitzin High School and a 1950 graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing-Johnstown. Jolene had a career as a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of service, working at Altoona Hospital and as a private duty nurse.

Jolene was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Altoona Catholic Nurses and the Altoona Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.

Jolene enjoyed reading a good book and doing puzzles.

Friends will be received from 4-7 pm, Friday, June 6, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 416 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, with Fr. Brad Baldwin, T.O.R., celebrant. Committal will be held at Blair Memorial Park.
