Obituary For Aleine D. Spinner

Aleine D. Spinner
Oct. 23, 1925-Dec. 23, 2023

Aleine D. Spinner, 98, Altoona, passed away on Saturday at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Louisa (List) Maillard. She married Steve Spinner on July 2, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona. He passed away on Jan. 26, 2011.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Spinner of Altoona, and three daughters: Cheryl Riggleman (Wayne), Bonnie Nardelli (James) and LuAnn Mignogna (Val), all of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Traci Benson, Daniel and Gabriel Riggleman, Nicholas and Nathan Nardelli, Natalie Yahner and Skyler, Alexa and Meghann Mignogna; and two great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Benson and Brantley Riggleman. Aleine was the last of her family.

Aleine had enjoyed working at Boyer Candy and had been a waitress at the Blairmont Country Club, but she found her greatest joy in being a wife and mother to her loving family.

She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar Society and loved reading the Bible and attending Mass.

Aleine enjoyed playing bingo, taking care of her plants and flowers, but she especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be missed dearly.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church by the Franciscan Fathers. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
