Obituary For Alice Ida Pielmeier

Alice Ida Pielmeier April 16, 1932-Dec. 8, 2022

Alice Ida Pielmeier, 90, Altoona, peacefully passed away Thursday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Aeppli) Staub. Alice married Harold E. Pielmeier on Nov. 10, 1951, he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1978. Alice is survived by her loving children: Richard (Julie) Pielmeier, Ronald (Carla) Pielmeier and Ruth (Don) Ciambotti all of Altoona; six grandchildren: Jenna (Steve) Shaffer, Nicole (Jim) Clancy, Alexis Ciambotti, Adam (Loretta) Pielmeier, Ryan (Ashleigh) Pielmeier and Julie Pielmeier; three step grandchildren: Mark (Theresa), Michael (Chelsea), and Amanda Lattieri (Erik); nine great-grandchildren: Drew, Lucas and Maya Shaffer; Addilyn, Hudson and Harper Clancy, A.J., Delanie and Penelope Pielmeier; eight step great-grandchildren: Gage Barnhill, Calandra Lattieri, Kiara Lattieri, Aalyiah Lattieri, Avionna Lattieri, Mark Lattieri and Eric and Jenna Weyant; also, twin great-great grandsons, Easton and Weston Barnhill. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger in 1979 and Randy in 2021; also, her sister, Betty. Alice was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona; Bavarian Aid Society and was a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry. Alice enjoyed crafts, pinochle, bingo and dancing. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, Dec. 12, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1405 5th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family requests that contributions be made in Alice’s memory to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1405 5th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.     I didn't know Alice very long but she left a lasting impression. She use to come to play bingo on Wednesday nights at Maybrook Independent Living. She graduated with my mom and even brought her yearbook one time to share. She was a lovely lady and always had a smile.
