Obituary For Alice M. DeCriscio

Alice M. DeCriscio

June 12, 1941-Jan. 16, 2024

Alice M. DeCriscio, 82, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born in Mount Union, the daughter of the late George and Pauline (Stapleton) Prough. Alice was married to Joseph DeCriscio, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 27, 2002.

She is survived by her daughters: Christine DeCriscio and Tina Lear both of Altoona; her nephew, Bobby Prough, who was raised in the family home; four grandchildren: Frankie Reed, Jr., Charity Reed, Tiffany Deyarmin, David Deyarmin, II (Chelsea); seven great-grandchildren: Jersey Hollabaugh, Layla Reed, Julian Sponsler, Landen Lundy, Aiden Deyarmin, Denton Rhodes-Gray and Linkon Deyarmin; her siblings: Richard Prough, Patricia Hoffman (Dave) and Tina Prough all of Huntingdon and Linda Thomas (Bill) of Elizabethtown.

Alice was preceded in death by her son, Joseph DeCriscio, III; her brother, Russell Prough and sister, Carol Prough.

She was a 1960 graduate of Captain Jack Joint High School, Mount Union.

Alice retired from Valley View Nursing Home.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

Alice was a member of the Bavarian Aid Society and the Lady Knights Quilting Club.

She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and bowling.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 at Bethany Lutheran Church with Pastor Drew McCaffery.
