Angeline “Angie” Batrus, 90, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmella (Garafalo) Polignone.

She married George T. Batrus on November 18, 1962, he preceded her in death on May 29, 2008.

Angie is survived by her two sons: George M. Batrus (Jennifer) of Altoona and Michael T. Batrus (Angie) of The Villages, FL; her four grandchildren: Matthew, Anna, Daniel and Dylan Batrus; and her sister, Mary Salome of Altoona.

Angie had been employed with WT Grant Co. in the hardware department up until her marriage to George. She then spent her days being a devoted wife and mother to her family. After raising her children she went to work at Tom & Joe’s, until just recently, where she was able to work alongside her family for the last 25 years.

She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.

Angie will be always remembered and loved. My Jack Russell and I lived across the street a few houses down from Angie. Every morning we would go for a walk and cross paths as she was getting into her car to go to work. Max Junior, the Jack Russell was always so excited to see her in would wag his tail and bark. Every day, still presently, he goes to her house, hoping that she comes outside. We will both find solace in the enduring memories of Angie. Sending my deepest condolences to her loving family. James Thompson and Max Junior
