Obituary For Ann E. Ansman

Ann E. Ansman, 102, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away of natural causes Tuesday at her residence.

Ann was born in Ebensburg, daughter of the late George and Marie (Griffen) McMullen. On October 11, 1946 she married Leroy R. Ansman who preceded her in death on July 8, 1984.

She is survived by a son, Alan J. Ansman and wife Kathie of Altoona; a daughter, Doris A. Scanlan and husband Ralph of Loretto; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Ann was a graduate of Ebensburg High School and was a housekeeper for many local families.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active in the Christian Mothers. Ann attended daily Mass and loved to pray the rosary.

Ann enjoyed making quilts, needlework, and working with the animals on her family farm.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2020 at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Loretto with Fr. John D. Byrnes officiating. Committal will be at St. Michael’s Church Cemetery in Loretto.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Carmelite Monastery of St. Therese of Lisieux, 2101 Manor Drive, Loretto, PA 15940.
