Obituary For Ann L. Kachele

Ann L. Kachele
March 9, 1933 – June 14, 2023

Ann L. Kachele, 90, was born in Altoona, March 9, 1933 and entered Heaven’s gates Wednesday, June 14, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late Eleanor Marlett, and wife of Reinhold Kachele, who preceded her in death February 6, 1986.
Never a day passed by that she didn’t thank her God and Savior for her faith and family and many other blessings.
She will be remembered for her wit and humor, cracking dumb jokes and her “squeaky” laugh. She loved and enjoyed her family immensely and getting together with them for all occasions. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, TV game shows, watching Duke basketball, and attending Mansion/Lakemont basketball games. In her earlier years she enjoyed knitting and sewing. She was the matriarch that cooked Thanksgiving and Easter dinners for many years at her house.
Ann worked in the assembly line at SKF for over 40 years before retiring in 1998.
She is survived by three daughters: Linda (Gary) Opdyke, Kim (Ken) Olivieri, and Michele Piccerillo; ten grandchildren: Rob (Brenda) Opdyke, Lori (Tim) Tyger, Kara (Josh) DeCarlo, Chad (Mary) Olivieri, Steve (Lindsay) Miksich, Scott Miksich, Lindsay (Chad) Iachini, Nina (Andy) Heredia, Kira Piccerillo, and Michael Piccerillo; twelve great-grandchildren; her beloved cat, Boots; and her devoted “Monday” companion, Marian Morgan.
Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Benson.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A celebration of Ann’s life will follow at 11 a.m. at the Stevens Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Tom Kurtz officiating.
The family requests that donations in memory of Ann be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to all the healthcare workers from UPMC and Pinnacle Hospice Care. Their affection, tenderness, and concern was genuine and heartfelt and will not be forgotten.
Condolences may be made at www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com or Stevens Family Funeral Homes Facebook page.
