Ruggery (Regina) all of Duncansville; twelve grandchildren: Brian and Jamey Kisielnicki; Donald A. She was a 1947 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and went on to graduate from the Seton Hill College for Nursing. Jean began her career as an ER Nurse at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and retired as a Registered Nurse from James E. VanZandt VA Medical Hospital, Altoona. She served as a proud, long-time member of the Catholic Nurses Association of Altoona and a vocal pro-life advocate.
Jean was a life-long member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she belonged to the Christian Mothers. Jean’s greatest vocation was to show love of all children. She was Aunt Jean, or Jeanie, to many nieces and nephews, beloved Grammie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and just “mom” to the many friends of her children while they were growing up. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, bird watching, cooking for the entire family, and especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.
