Obituary For Anne L. Gressler

Anne L. Gressler

April 28, 1959-December 3, 2025

Anne L. Gressler, 66, of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday at her residence. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Henry J. “Herk” and Patricia A. (Struke) Gressler.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Shea Oliver (Nathaniel Bradford) of Altoona; close friend, Brian Walker; two grandchildren: Charlie Walker and Bexley Walker; five stepchildren: Breon Walker (Katie Gunsallus), Alys Walker, Brock Benson (Tara), Travis Benson and Brandon Benson; her brother, John Gressler (Lori) of Altoona and a niece, Allison Beiswenger (Ryan); also a nephew, Andrew Gressler (Darcy) and their daughter, Drew.

Anne was a 1977 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and a 1981 graduate of Penn State University.

She retired from Verizon as a phone service technician with 25 years of service. After her retirement, she worked in retail sales for several companies.

Anne enjoyed attending Tuesday night Trivia at the Cesare Battisti. She was an active follower of the local music scene and could usually be spotted supporting “The BSXpress,” Anne was one of their biggest fans. She was also an avid pet lover.

Friends will be received from 4-6:45 pm, Friday, December 12, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eli Hess.

The family requests contributions be made in Anne’s memory to: Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, Pa. 16648.

    I worked with Anne for a brief time at Petermans florist. It was always an adventure working with Anne. She always made me smile and laugh even years later when I would see her at Buckle. Fly with the angels Anne, you were taken too soon. Barb Caracciolo
