Anthony R. Salome Sr. Nov. 16, 1928 - March 9, 2023

Anthony R. Salome Sr., 94, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Gugliuzzo) Salome. On July 18, 1949, he married Mary Polignone at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife; three sons: David M. Salome (Teresa) of Altoona, Anthony R. Salome Jr. (Randon) of Freeland, WA, and Daniel A. Salome (Michelle) of Elko, NV; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anthony had attended Altoona High School. He retired as a loom fixer at Juniata Fabrics. Anthony enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and watching Western movies. Friends will be received from 3-6 pm on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave. Altoona. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
