August 4, 1941 – December 12, 2024
Barbara A. Barr, 83, Altoona, passed away Thursday morning at Graystone Manor.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Arthur and Martha (Yeatts) Hazenstab. On July 6, 1968, she married David P. Barr.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband; two sons: Matthew L (Kristin) Barr of Lewisburg and James T. Barr of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren: Brennen, Brock and Beatrix.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School and Penn State University.
She was retired from the Altoona Area School District as a math and English teacher and was a member of Jaggard First United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601 where a funeral service will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. by Pastor Fred E. Hickok.
Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Altoona.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
