Barbara D. “Barb” Burns, 84, Hillview Chateau, Altoona, formerly of Hollidaysburg passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. She was born in Clearfield, daughter of the late Edgar and Rilla (McKee) Dale.

Surviving are a son, Bob (Lisa) Burns of Deerfield Beach, FL; daughter, Susan (David) Philbin of Deerfield Beach, FL; and son, Scott (Linda) Burns of Hollidaysburg; and three grandsons: Sean, Casey and Colin.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Dale and a sister, Betty Johnston.

Barbara was a graduate of Clearfield High School and from nursing school. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.

She was passionate about sports, a devoted Steelers, Penguins and Nittany Lion fan. She was also an avid reader, especially of mystery novels.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of the Hillview Chateau for their care of Barb and their kindness.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
