Barbara R. Moore March 8, 1930-April 29, 2022

Barbara R. Moore, 92, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Lakemont, passed away in the early morning hours Friday at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Juniata, the daughter of the late William J. and Elizabeth E. (Wissinger) Oakley. Barbara married H. Fred Moore on Sept. 1, 1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church; Fred preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2006 after 57 years of marriage. Barbara is survived by her children: Fred H. Moore (Karen) of Scanton, Larry M. Moore (Sharon) of Hollidaysburg, Douglas O. Moore (Jerry) and Kathy M. Stitt (Larry) both of Altoona; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her five sisters and four brothers. Barbara was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital for 30 years. She was a long-time member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, playing pinochle and spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Monday, May 2, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 344 Baynton Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, celebrant, Msgr. Michael Becker.
