Mrs. Sickles was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg for more than 40 years where she served faithfully on the Finance Committee and assisting with funeral meals. Since moving to Hanover in 2014 she had been a member of St. David’s Lutheran Church. There, with her husband Charlie, she helped with PAL lunches and enjoyed monthly bingo. In Altoona she volunteered at the Altoona Hospital for more than 25 years with her husband. Mrs. Sickles was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Altoona Chapter #290 for over 50 years. Through the years she enjoyed counted cross stitch, clown, angel and coin collecting, computer classes and special times with family and friends. Until moving from Altoona in 2014 she was an active member of the AAHS Class of 1953 reunion committee.
Her daughters are deeply grateful to the staff at Homewood of Plum Creek for the dedicated and compassionate care both of their parents received while there.
