Obituary For Barry C. Noble

Barry C. Noble November 27, 1934 – March 25, 2022

Barry C. Noble, 87, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Altoona, died Friday at the Home. Barry was born in Midway, son of the late Charles and Margaret (Kehm) Noble. He married Shirley S. Seibel November 3, 1962 in Pittsburgh. Barry is survived by his wife Shirley of Altoona, two daughters: Karen Celline and Beth (John) Polites all of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Alexa Polites, Zachary Polites, Brianna Polites and Jonathan Celline; and a brother, Charles Noble of Tipton. Barry was a 1953 graduate of Monongahela High School and attended Penn State University. Barry was a US Army Veteran serving with the 1st Airborne Battlegroup, 327th Infantry. He retired in 1992 from Conrail after 32 years of service. Barry was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the board for many years. He was a member of Logan Lodge 490 Free and Accepted Masons, Jaffa Shrine, and the Jaffa Clown Unit. After his retirement he renewed his love of flying and had his own airplane. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1309 Frankstown Road, Hollidaysburg, PA by Pastor Roy Steward. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to UPMC Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601 or Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, 500 Municipal Drive, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 in Barry’s memory.
