Betty Jane Tittler

June 9, 1928-May 18, 2024

Betty Jane Tittler, 95, Garvey Manor, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at Garvey Manor.

She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late John and Frances (Huber) Mueller. Betty married John Paul Tittler on Nov. 26, 1955, he preceded her in death on May 15, 1994.

Betty is survived by a son, Eric Tittler (Cheri) of Altoona; two daughters: Lisa Consalvo of Altoona and Kim Claypool (David) of Pittsburgh; four grandsons: John Tittler, Michael Tittler, Shawn Consalvo and Nicholas Consalvo; three great-grandchildren: Terryka, Josiah and Shawn, Jr. also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was the last of her thirteen siblings.

She was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. Betty retired from Sheetz and had previously worked as a meat wrapper for a variety of grocery stores.

Betty was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Bavarian Aid Society, Unter Uns and Healthy Steps in Motion by Altoona Hospital.

She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Notre Dame fan, she loved to dance, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 411 Wopsononock Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601 by Fr. Brian Norris, celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

A special thank you to the nurses, aids, and all who made Betty’s stay at Garvey Manor her new home away from home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bett’s memory to: Garvey Manor, 1037 S. Logan Blvd, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
