Betty Jean Knob

September 12, 1934-August 8, 2026

Betty Jean Knob, 91, of Altoona, passed away Saturday at her residence, following an extended illness. She was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the daughter of the late Clifton and Laura (Mitchell) Campbell.

Betty married Edward Knob on April 3, 1954 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years; her son, David Knob and special friend, Carol Albright of Altoona; her daughter, Cher Noel and her husband, David of Patton; six grandsons: David “DJ” (Lara) of Altoona, Josh (Danielle) of Oakdale, Willie (Erica) of Clearfield, Jonathan of Iowa, and Shawn and Cameron of Patton; six great-grandchildren: Alaina, Olivia, Eli, Edie, Ember and Blakely and many dear nieces and nephews; and her special cousin, Gloria Swick.

Betty was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by her brothers and their spouses: Carl Campbell and Rosemary and Raymond Campbell and Leota.

She retired from accounts receivable department with Blue and White Travel after 30 years of service. Betty later worked in the offices at Lakemont Park.

Betty was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her kindness and thoughtfulness of the needs of others will never be forgotten. She was always thankful for everything life gave her. Her last words to anyone, was, “Thank-You.”

A special thank-you to the nurses of Adoration Hospice and Maybrook Hills for their exceptional care.

Betty enjoyed volunteering at the Altoona Hospital in later years and she especially looked forward to time spent with her family.

Friends will be received from 10 am-12 pm, Saturday, August 15, 2026 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon in the Stevens Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Douglas McGaffin.
