Carl F. Kiesewetter III
December 8, 1960 – January 18, 2025
Carl F. Kiesewetter III, 64, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of Rosemarie (Shade) Keller and the late Carl F. Kiesewetter, Jr.
He is survived by his loving mother; two brothers: Kent S. Kiesewetter (Wayne) of Woodbury and Kraig R. Kiesewetter (Gina) of Altoona; a sister, Kim A. Smith (Monte) of Roaring Spring, Step-father, Ray Keller; and nieces and nephews: Kylor Kiesewetter, Mahra Henry, Mickie, Maddie, and Hunter Smith, and Morgan, Konner, and Karson Kiesewetter.
Carl was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Kurt Kiesewetter; and a nephew, Saxon Kiesewetter.
Carl was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where he was an altar server, usher, and volunteered at the Parish bingo and fish fry.
He previously worked at Custom Carwash, Burger King, and served lunches at Altoona Central Catholic Elementary School.
Carl participated in many events in the Special Olympics over the years. He was active in Hakuna Matatas Handicapable Square Dancers that began about 20 years ago. Carl loved spending time with his friends and especially enjoyed dancing with his favorite partner, Leah. He was a blackbelt in karate and loved bowling weekly. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame and enjoyed his many trips to Disney World. Most especially, Carl enjoyed supporting his nieces and nephews by attending their various activities.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. James Dugan, Celebrant.
Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ridge and Valley Special Olympics https://specialolympicspa.org in Carl’s memory.
