Carol A. Mangan Aug. 18, 1939 -Jan. 24, 2023
Carol A. Mangan, 83, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC after a brief illness. She was born in Turtle Creek, PA, the daughter of the late John and Betty (Matsko) Evak. Carol married Paul J. Mangan in October of 1960, he preceded her in death on July 31, 1995. Carol is survived by her four children: Michael J. Mangan and Keith P. Mangan (Lori) all of Altoona, Timothy P. Mangan and Carolyn A. Slaughter (Raymond) all of Richmond, VA; two grandchildren, Marcus and Evelyn Slaughter; a brother, Richard Evak of Greensburg and her sister, Betty Jane Jozwiakowski of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; as well as a niece and two nephews. She was also preceded in death by her Aunt Emma Kundrat. Carol was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School. She was the former co-owner of Monogram’s Unlimited and had previously worked for Meyer Jonasson, Mr. Charles and Kaufmans. Carol enjoyed baking and cross stitch. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Alto Reste Park.
