Obituary For Carol A. Porta

Carol A. Porta Dec. 31, 1942-July 31, 2022

Carol A. Porta, 79, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late William T. and Anne Elizabeth (Burkholder) McCann. Carol married James J. Porta on June 19, 1965. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 57 years; two sons: James T. and William Porta; two daughters: Anne Adams (John) all of Altoona and Katherine Davis of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren: Katelyn, Carolyn and Angelyn Adams and Dalton Davis; a great-granddaughter, Addilyn and son-in-law, Paul Davis, Jr. of Hollidaysburg. She was a 1959 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. Carol had been an LPN having worked at the Altoona Hospital. She later worked at Roaring River Mills. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona and the Casey Jones Camping Club. Carol enjoyed sewing and was known for the many wedding gowns that she made. She liked crafting, gardening and loved animals; but she especially enjoyed time with her family. Friends will be received from 3-5 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Fr. Lubomir Strecok. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
