I could tell many stories about how my big sister took care of me, but let's talk about books. When I was in 1st grade I had a Little Golden Book of "Heidi" that I loved. Somehow I lost it, and I was devastated. Mom sent Chee Chee to buy me a replacement. Cheech came back with the real "Heidi" book, and I cried because there were hardly any pictures, and I couldn't read it. Mom made Cheech read it to me and I loved it. In fact, I still have it.So it began. Over the years, Chee Chee gave me all the books she had outgrown - Nancy Drew, Sue Barton, Cherry Ames ... She bought me many books for birthdays and Christmases.I remember "TaKe a Call, Topsy" and "Jill's Victory". As I got older she let me read her book club books, like "Gone With the Wind", and "Advice and "Consent" . Over the years we continued to share recommendations for books to read, especially mysteries. We both loved to read! Chee Chee would be really happy to know that her great granddaughter already loves books too, and has lots of people to read to her!
