Obituary For Charlene K Johnson

Charlene K. (Pavlic) Johnson Oct. 24, 1959 – March 3, 2023

Charlene K. (Pavlic) Johnson, 63, Altoona, passed away Friday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Frances Pavlic and stepdaughter of Robert Updike. On Sept. 8, 1978, she married Joseph M. Johnson at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona. She is survived by her husband; a son, Jason M. Johnson (Baylee) of Altoona; three grandchildren; a sister, Joan Finnegan of Altoona, and an estranged daughter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Paul. Charlene was a 1978 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She was a personal care provider for 25 years at United Cerebral Palsy and Among Caring Hearts. Charlene attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was a proud Armed Forces Mother and was very active in the organization. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc. 1421 Eighth Ave. Altoona. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Msgr. Stanley Carson officiating. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park. The family requests that donations in memory of Charlene be made to the Semper Fi & America’s Fund, 825 College Blvd, Suite 102, PMB 609, Oceanside, CA 92057 or the U.S. Armed Forces Mothers, Squad 41, c/o Investment Savings Bank, 900 S. 16th St., Altoona, PA 16602.     My dearest Charlene you entered into my life on July 4th, 1976, when you were only 16 you changed/saved my life and made me a better man/person and shared your life with me for 47 years (44 married) I will never forget all the great times and memories that we made together. Fly high my beautiful lady. Till we meet again in heaven

    "Momma J".. Charlene. I have so many fond memories of all the times we've spent together throughout the years from you helping out with my girl scout troop to spending time just hanging out at your place. I'll also never forget you hand making me a mask when COVID first became a thing. You were a very special woman and I'm so blessed that have known you and your family.
