Charles “Don” Hetrick July 6, 1938-December 5, 2023
Charles “Don” Hetrick, 85, Altoona, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Charles Reuben and Ora Minnie (Barnett) Hetrick. He married Kathryn Helen Hunter on November 26, 1960, she preceded him in death on November 17, 2023.
Don is survived by his three children: Ricky Hetrick and Robin Kessler (John) both of Altoona and Charles Hetrick (Susan Bender) of Everett; four grandchildren: Brad Kessler (Brandy), Chantel DeGennaro, Dustin Rapp (Marisa) and Brittany Hetrick; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; a sister, Betty Boslet of Altoona and brother-in-law, Barry Galui.
Don was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
He was a quality control inspector for Penn Jacobson Fasteners Corporation.
Don enjoyed hunting and going to the casinos, but especially loved spending time with his family.
A memorial service for Don and his wife, Helen, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1407 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 by Pastor Ralph Hamer. Entombment was in Calvary Cemetery.
