Cynthia M. “Cindy” (Robinson) Lytle Sept. 2, 1949-Jan. 22, 2023
Cynthia M. “Cindy” (Robinson) Lytle, 73, Altoona, peacefully passed away at her residence, Sunday after a courageous 5-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Melvin and Therese (McGough) Robinson. Cynthia married James A. Lytle on June 7, 1969 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona. She is survived by her husband; her beloved daughters: Jennifer (Scott) Miller, Melanie (Mike) Cree and Diane (Billy) Yost all of Altoona. Cindy will be lovingly remembered as Gram to her eight grandchildren: Holly (Adam) Schaffer, Scotty Lytle, Morgan, Mikayla and Mallory Cree and Harley, Luke and Jayda Yost; also, her two great-grandchildren: Logan and Elizabeth Schaffer; step-grandchildren: Alan Spence, Steven and Billy (Leslie) Miller; step-great-grandchildren: Lily, Harry, David, Teddy and Walter Spence and Emersyn and Caroline Miller; brothers: Larry (Patti) Robinson and Dennis (Cathy) Robinson; sisters-in-law: Jeanne and Lisa Robinson and Joy (Bill) Socie; brother-in-law, Glenn Kuhn and numerous nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her brother, David Robinson and sister, Kathy Kuhn. She was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. Cindy retired as a tax professional with H&R Block after 40 years of service. She was also, Co-owner of Larry’s Dairy Bar and retired after 21 years of serving up treats. Cindy was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and a Religious Education Teacher. She loved reading, traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach and taking cruises. Cindy enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, but especially loved spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Fr. Lubomir Strecok, 511 20th St., Altoona, Pa. 16602. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
