Darla D. FryeOct. 4, 1948-June 2, 2022Darla D. Frye, 73, Lakemont passed away Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian of Pittsburgh. She was born in Hollidaysburg, the daughter of the late Jacob and Gertrude (Reffner) McMaster. Darla married the love of her life, Anthony E. “Gene” Frye on Sept. 8, 1967. Darla is survived by her loving husband; their daughters and spouses: Tammy L. Savino (Daniel) of Lakemont and Annette ‘Mitzi’ Thompson (Daniel) of Juniata; four grandchildren: Summer, Daizy, Laurel and Brody; three brothers: William McMaster of VA, Mickey McMaster (Gay) of Sebastopol, CA and Stephen McMaster (Barbara) of Hollidaysburg; a sister, Jayne Miller of Carlisle; many nieces and nephews and her pup-Candy.She was a 1966 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. Darla was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Darla enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, going to the casinos, horseback riding and RV’ing in Florida. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 344 Baynton Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
