Darlene Jane Smith June 10, 1954-May 20, 2022

Darlene Jane Smith, 67, Bellwood, passed away peacefully at her residence, Friday morning after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Forrest and Grace (Zible) Diehl. Darlene was twice married. First to Gary Lee Myers, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 30, 1979. On May 9, 1986, she found love for a second time and married Gary B. Smith, he preceded her in death on January 12, 2022. Darlene is survived by her sons: Travis and Gary Myers, Jr.; a daughter, Melinda Bressler (Chuck); stepchildren: Gary Smith, Jr., Sheila Bruening, Bryan Smith and Colrenna Smith; ten grandchildren: Grace Myers, Shania Myers, Travis Myers, Jr., Jacob Leonard, Christopher Leonard, Jr., Marshall Weakland, Patrick Hoover, Dawn & Danielle Leonard and Blair Smith; her siblings: Randy Diehl, Jim Leonard, Forrest Diehl, II, Ken Leonard, Jr., Gail Cooke, Judy Nash, Lora Diehl and Grace Colarusso; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Ken and Jane Leonard; three children: Joseph Cruise, Monica Leonard and Christopher Leonard; her sisters: Charlotte Brewer and Audrey Vermillion. Darlene was a graduate of Altoona High School and worked for Solar Shield as a Scheduler. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
