Obituary For David C. Hooper

David C. Hooper October 29, 1943 – May 7, 2021

David C. Hooper, 77, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. David was born in Lewistown, son of the late Ralph and Virginia (Beers) Hooper. On May 20, 1967, he married Mary Louise Evangelisto who survives. Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Lisa Marie Hooper of Rockville, MD and Krista Louise Hooper of Altoona; two grandchildren: Justine and Vanessa; two brothers: Stephen Hooper and John Hooper and two sisters: Linda McNelis and Bonnie Wildeman. David was a 1961 graduate of Altoona High School and retired from Penn DOT as an auditor and construction specialist. He was a member of The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. David was also a member of the Blair County Antique Car Club. David was a musician from an early age, playing bass guitar in many local and regional bands and was the leader of the band, Prime Time, for many years. David also enjoyed restoring and showing his 1953 Chevy and most especially enjoyed spending time with his family. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in David’s memory to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 East Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.     Dave and I roomed together when we were playing on the road. One evening when we were home for a few days, Dave and I went to the Son's of Italy in Altoona. We both met are future wives that night in Altoona. After we quit the road, Dave and I played in local bands and we were friends for over 50 years. . We went on vacations together. So sad to lose my friend. I'm so sorry for Mary, Lisa , Krista and the grandchildren. Ed McCloskey
