David J. Ganz, Sr. Nov. 15,1946 – Aug. 23, 2020

David J. Ganz, Sr.,73, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona, after a brief illness. David was born in Scranton, son of the late Robert and Florence (Wilczynski) Ganz. On February 24, 1968 he married Kathleen A. Clements who survives. Surviving is his wife; a daughter, Tina Shaffer (Greg) of Glenn Mills; a son, David J. Ganz II of Altoona and three granddaughters: Ainsley, Mallory, and Kelsey. He was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam and retired from Norfolk Southern as a machinist. David was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont. He enjoyed antique cars and bowling and was a member of The Blair County Antique Car Club and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Railroad Retirees. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont, with Msgr. Michael Becker officiating.
