Obituary For David Joseph McTigue

David Joseph McTigue May 1, 1946-Dec. 10, 2022

David Joseph McTigue, 76, Altoona, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late William T. and Margaret C. (Hogue) McTigue. Dave is survived by his two sisters: Deanna (Frank) Ernest of Lynchburg, VA, Barbara Neugebauer of Frederick, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings: Francena Johnson, William McTigue, Harold McTigue, John McTigue, Sr., and James McTigue. Dave was a graduate of Altoona High School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired after many years of service from Conrail. He was a member of the Heidelberg Country Club, Hollidaysburg VFW, Allegheny Club, Blair County Antiquers and the Kruisin’ Car Club. Dave loved his cats. Friends will be received from 11 am-noon on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a service will follow at noon in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Tony Conrad. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held with military honors.     I remember Dave as a quiet man but he gave me advise once that was both comforting and very wise. I'll always remember his kindness. I'm glad he was a friend.
