David Scott DeCoskey

July 9, 1962-October 24, 2024

David Scott DeCoskey, 62, Hollidaysburg, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family Thursday evening. Scott was born in Altoona, the son of the late, J. Donald and Ruby Mae (Varnes) DeCoskey.

Scott married Renee Lonsinger on September 5, 1992 at First United Methodist of Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are, his loving wife of 32 years and their children: Justin, Mya, Leah and his faithful dog, Oscar all of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Jamie L. DeCoskey (Irene) of Hollidaysburg and a sister, Sheryl D. Imler (Rick) of Duncansville; and his mother-in-law, Nancy Lonsinger.

Scott was preceded in death by three brothers: Dennis, Dwight and Darryl DeCoskey; and his father-in-law, Floyd Roger Lonsinger.

He was a 1980 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School and went on to work in automotive sales for over 40 years.

Scott was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg.

He enjoyed sports, but especially watching his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, and football teams, the Las Vegas Raiders and Notre Dame.

Scott loved his family and they ask that everyone consider being a living donor, to save someone else’s life. Special thanks to Scott’s living donor for her selfless act which gave his family an additional 15 months to be with him.

Friends will be received from 3-6 pm on Monday, October 28, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, 801 Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, a service will immediately follow at 6 pm with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis.
