Obituary For Deborah D. Auker
Deborah D. Auker
September 1, 1958-July 25, 2025
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
Our dear Lord called Debbie home Friday, July 25, 2025, passing peacefully at home beside her husband and son.
Born September 1, 1958 in Mount Holly, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Ray and the late Gretchen Sell. She was survived by her loving husband, Rick, of 40 years. They were married February 14, 1985 at First Grace Brethren Church. She was also survived by her loving son Justin, sisters Gail (Eric) Stoltz, and Jennifer (Rob) Rupert, and many nieces and nephews.
She had a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Penn State, and was Vice President of Senior Loan Review II at M&T Bank. She worked 42 years combined for Mid-State Bank and M&T Bank.
Debbie was a true source of love and wisdom to her family and friends. We all depended on her very much. She was a God-fearing woman of unbelievably strong faith. She loved being involved in her church and spent years being a Sunday School teacher. She loved all the kids she taught during those years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Altoona. She lived out her life doing God’s work, always thinking of others above herself. Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
Words cannot express our sincerest gratitude for all the outpouring of kindness and prayers that never stopped during the most difficult struggles we have ever faced. Debbie constantly said how truly thankful she was and wanted so much for everyone to know how truly blessed she felt.
Special thanks to all who traveled to UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh and UPMC Altoona, and all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and care assistants there who took care of Debbie, including Dottie from UPMC Altoona. Special thanks to Mark Jackson who never stopped giving of himself and the overwhelming generosity of others. Special thanks to Sally, Danielle, and Pastor Rick from UPMC Family Hospice who cared for Debbie during her last days. Special thanks to her church family and Pastor Tyler Pepper at First Baptist Church of Altoona. Finally, special thanks to all those who sent cards and prayed fervently for Debbie. We just want you all to know how truly blessed we are. God bless each one of you. Our hearts are so heavy without Debbie’s presence.
A private service will be held for the immediate family.
Arrangements are provided by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
