Obituary For Deborah J. Shaw

Deborah J. Shaw March 25, 1957 – December 23, 2022

Deborah J. Shaw, 65, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC after an extended illness. Deborah was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Amy (Richards) Hoover. On May 16, 1987 she married Kenneth L. Shaw. Surviving are her husband Ken; two daughters: Mindy Shaw and Aimee Shaw both of Altoona; two sons: Travis Shaw and Christopher Shaw, both of Altoona; grandchildren: Khloe, Kali, Kinsley and Ammelia; six sisters: Betsy Hoover, Bonnie Blackwelder, Jodi Scott, Linda Hoover, Bobbi Macak and Amy Jo Myers; and several nieces and nephews. Deborah was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. There will be no public funeral services.     This came to my attention today and I was truly saddened. I remember her as "Debbie Cakes". A bright, though brief, light in an early chapter of my life. A truly wonderful woman who fought through so much with a smile and grace. -SNS
