Obituary For Delores A. Cree

Delores A. “Dee” Cree

October 6, 1940 – October 26, 2024

Delores A. “Dee” Cree, 84, Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at UPMC Altoona.

Dee was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine (Bauer) Yost. On June 6, 1964, she married Robert D. Cree at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband Bob; a daughter, Lori Haines of Altoona; a son, Michael Cree (Melanie) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Matthew Haines and Morgan, Mikayla and Mallory Cree; two sisters: Marie Crawford (Bill) of Altoona and Michele Kasun (Tom) of Jeanette; three brothers: Paul Yost (Judy) of Altoona, Bill Yost of Colver and Joe Yost (Patty) of Altoona; numerous nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Barb Yost.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Yost and a sister-in-law, Julie Yost.

Dee was a 1958 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and the Altoona School of Commerce.

She retired from Home Nursing Agency as a secretary and previously worked at Warnaco as a finisher.

Dee was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she was a member of Christian Mothers, was a Eucharistic Minister, and taught CCD and RCIA.

She enjoyed going to casinos, gardening, doing puzzles, and previously taught ceramics. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Fr. John Lynam. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602 in Dee’s memory.
