Dennis D. “Denny” Steinbugl

May 26, 1947-February 19, 2025

Dennis D. “Denny” Steinbugl, 77, Duncansville, passed away Wednesday evening at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, following a battle with Leukemia.

He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Frank X. and Angela (Masucci) Steinbugl. Dennis was united in marriage to Vicki L. Arford on November 20, 1970 in Claysburg, they were married by Vicki’s great-grandfather, Rev. C.L. Cox.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years and their children: daughters, Michele Steinbugl (Ed Conklin) of PA Furnace, Jennifer Miller (Jeff) of Altoona and son, Spence Steinbugl (Jody) of Sproul; five grandchildren: D. Skyler Steinbugl, Kyrah and Jeffrey Miller, Seth and Sara Conklin; and three great-grandchildren: Willow, Kayson and Everly Steinbugl. Denny is also survived by two siblings: Robert Steinbugl (Connie) of Duncansville and Patricia Kunrod (Bob) of Portage; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.

Denny was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Steinbugl.

He was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam Era.

Denny was a 1966 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired in 2018 from the Federal Railroad Administration as an Enforcement Inspector with 21 years of service. Denny had previously worked as an inspector for the Public Utility Commission and Conrail, with a career totaling over 50 years in the railroad industry.

He was a life-member of the Bavarian Aid Society. Denny enjoyed bowling, hunting, 4-wheeling and especially trips to the Seneca Allegany Casino with his wife, children and brother. When at home he enjoyed spending time with his 8 “Furballs” that he and his wife rescued as kittens. Before rescuing kittens, Denny loved going on walks with his two German Shepherds.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
