Obituary For Dennis Patrick McGeehan

Dennis Patrick McGeehan

October 21, 1955-May 31, 2024

Dennis McGeehan, 68, Duncansville, went home to the Lord, Friday morning at his residence. He was born in Phoenixville, to the late Thomas Walter and Virginia Margaret (Steiger) McGeehan.

Married to his sweetheart, Dr. Susann Marie Kells-McGeehan for 40 plus years, they were blessed with nine children: a daughter, Sabrina Rothhaar married to Matthew and grandchildren, Aurora, Alanna and Oliver of Cresson; sons of Duncansville, Sean McGeehan, Kenneth McGeehan, Stephen McGeehan, Joseph McGeehan, Devon McGeehan and a daughter in heaven, Kateri McGeehan; as well as Jeremy McGeehan married to Erin Justice of State College, with step-grandson, Jameson and a child on the way, Joshua McGeehan and partner, Angela Snyder of Clearfield.

He served as cantor for St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Duncansville for 30 plus years where he was a member.

Dennis was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Star of the Sea council, Hollidaysburg. He was active in Boy Scouts, Bedford County players, Miracle League of Blair County, was a CPR and AED trainer and a writer after working 34 years for the PA State Department.

Dennis spent his time teaching and studying Judo for over 50 years and was a 3rd Degree Black belt. He will be missed and loved by all.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Monday, June 3, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 302 Old Route 22, Duncansville, PA 16635 by Msgr. Robert J. Saly. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

The family asks that contributions be made in Dennis’s memory to: St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 302 Old Route 22, Duncansville, PA 16635.
