Donald D. Cossitor Dec. 10, 1927-Oct. 18, 2022

Donald D. Cossitor, 94, Altoona, peacefully passed away, Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Patton, the son of the late Domenic and Caroline (Comberlongo) Cossitor. Donald married Carolyn Weamer on July 27, 1966 in Altoona. Donald is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of 56 years; three sons: Barry Cossitor and Bryce Cossitor (Sue) both of Altoona, and Brian Cossitor (Sandy) of Butler; a daughter, Beth Bond of Austell, GA; five grandchildren: Jason and Eric Pfahler, Ben and Lauren Cossitor and Lexi Bond; also a brother, Joseph Cossitor of San Jose, CA. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Henry, Frank, John and Peter Cossitor; and four sisters: Catherine Lechene, Louise Smith, Virginia Gramley and Madeline Plezenski. Donald was a 1946 graduate of Patton High School and served in the US Air Force. He retired from WTAJ TV as a TV director. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Cesare Battisti Club, Bavarian Aide Society and the Knights of Columbus. Donald enjoyed carpentry, gardening, sports and hunting. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2716 Broad Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601, with Fr. James Dugan officiating. Committal will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.
