Donald N. McNelly

July 6, 1932-September 29, 2024

Donald N. McNelly, 92, Altoona, passed away at home, Sunday morning. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late John and Stella (Kennedy) McNelly.

He married Irene D. Yon on April 9, 1957, in Coalport. They celebrated 58 years before her passing on Jan. 23, 2016.

Don is survived by his three children: Linda Pearce (Dr. Charles) of Little Rock, AR, Bobbi Perry (Robert) of Juno Beach, FL and David McNelly (Dorothy) of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Christopher Pearce, Adam Pearce (Amberlie) and Alexa Williams (Grant), Rachel and Vanessa Perry, Derek McNelly, Devin McNelly (Cameron) and Dylan McNelly; three great-grandchildren: Emma and Beau Perry and Emerson McNelly; also, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jack, Bob, Harold and Clifford McNelly,

Don served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from Conrail with 42 years of service.

Don was of the Protestant faith and was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society.

He enjoyed time with his family and especially his grandson’s baseball games. Don liked working in his yard, playing cards and tinkering with his car.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held at Carson Valley Cemetery.
