Dorothy “Gail” Pearson

November 9, 1949-September 19, 2024

Dorothy “Gail” Pearson, 74, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late John Willard and Dorothy M. (Gill) Pearson.

Gail is survived by her brother, Stephen T. Pearson and wife Patricia of Duncansville; her sister, Barbara L. Orr and husband David of Wake Forest, NC; several nieces and nephews and Jean Koehle, who was like a sister to Gail.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Theresa “JoAnne” LoCicero (Joseph), Donna M. Montenegro and Lois A. Mavretic (John); and a brother, John “Jack” Pearson (Norma).

Gail was a 1968 graduate of Altoona High School. She went on to work for the Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus as a Certified Unit Secretary and after 41 years of service, Gail retired in 2011.

She was a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the church choir and the Legion of Mary. Gail was a former member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Gail enjoyed singing, loved cats and looked forward to her coffee group at Blair Towers.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2009 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, with celebrant, Fr. Lubomir Strecok. Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Altoona.
