Eileen M. Forsythe

October 24, 1929-February 9, 2025

Eileen M. Forsythe, 95, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Spangler, the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Kutruff) Hofer.

Eileen married Donald T. Forsythe, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1982.

She is survived by her four children: Gail L. Douty (Bruce) of Ebensburg, Brent L. Forsythe (Diann) and Guy M. Forsythe (Michele) all of Patton and Rex. A. Forsythe of Dysart; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Sellers of Duncansville and her dog, Sammy.

Eileen was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ed and Ken Hofer.

She was a graduate of Patton High School and had been a cafeteria employee at Cambria Heights.

Eileen enjoyed volunteering at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2716 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601 with Fr. James Dugan, celebrant.

Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton.
