Elizabeth Ann DeGol

May 21, 1932 – June 6, 2025

Elizabeth Ann DeGol, 93, peacefully passed away Friday at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the born in Gallitzin, the daughter of the late Michael and Catherine (Buzzella) Dibonto. Elizabeth married Silvio DeGol on December 31, 1949 at St. Patrick’s Church, Gallitzin.

Surviving is her loving husband of 75 years, Silvio; her daughters: Judith Klingeman, Janet (Dave) Barroner, and Joyce DeGol; and a son, Joseph (Lisa) DeGol. She was a proud grandmother of Justin (Dr. Meghan) Barroner, Dr. Jonathan Klingeman, Brittani (Ben) Kunkel, and Dr. Joseph DeGol. She was great-grandmother to Marley, Remme, Daevaney, and Hennessey Barroner, Carson, Lucya, Kallie and baby girl Kunkel expected in July.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Michael; son-in-law Reverend John Klingeman; siblings: Antonia (Mario) Bernazolli, Mary (Nunzio) Quintilli, Leona Leap, Camillo Dibonto, Mario Dibonto, and Edward Dibonto.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and baker known especially for her Italian dishes and excellent family dinners.

She was a devoted catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Friends will be received from 9-10 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday June 12, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. James Dugan, celebrant.

Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Elizabeth’s memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
