Obituary For Elsie T. Massimilla

Elsie T. Massimilla March 9, 1926-October 14, 2021

Elsie T. (Sepp) Massimilla, 95, passed away peacefully in her home, Thursday. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late John and Elsie (Haufellner) Sepp. Elsie married Frank P. Massimilla on September 3, 1955 and celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year. Elsie is survived by her loving husband, Frank; sons, John (Kelle) of Chambersburg, Pa, Mark of Altoona and Joseph (Kelly) of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren: Kristin, Sara, Brian, Sam and Tom; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Emma Kneidinger and many nieces and nephews. She attended St. Mary’s grade school, Altoona Catholic High School and Zeth Business School. Elsie was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Elsie was an avid gardener, loved flowers and loved to knit, she knitted over 200 caps for newborns. She also made hundreds of Rosaries to be sent to third world countries. Elsie was a loving wife and mother, who was an example of God’s love in her everyday life. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 or The Blair/Clearfield Assoc. for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 300 5th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.
