Obituary For Eugene "Archie" F. Keller

Eugene F. “Archie” Keller

December 21, 1929-August 18, 2024

Eugene F. “Archie” Keller, 94, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Elvin and Gladys G. (Creamer) Keller.

Eugene married Mary Lou Luther on August 11, 1956, she preceded him in death on June 17, 2017.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Archie was preceded in death by his brother, E. Dwayne Keller.

He was a graduate of Altoona High School and served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Archie went on to graduate from the University of Findlay-Ohio and retired in 1990 as a schoolteacher from the Spring Cove School District after 32 years of service.

Archie was a lifetime member of the Fourth Street Church of God, where he was elected as a life elder in 1996 and was very active within the church.

He loved roller skating and went on to win many regional titles and even a national title. Archie enjoyed baseball and had lettered while in college, he then coached later on.

Friends will be received from 4-7 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 26, 2024 in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Matthew Hornberger. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

    Mr. Keller was the best teacher! I was in the class of 1993. My condolences to his family. I only had the pleasure to know him a short time while in school, but he surely was a blessing to all who knew him! Christine G.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with Archie's family at this time of sorrow. I was a student of Mr Keller at the Roaring Spring Junior High School and always enjoyed his class
