Eva L. Irwin

December 22, 1932-November 8, 2023

Eva L. Irwin, 90, of Altoona passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday. She was one of eleven siblings and the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Cushion) Dunio.

Surviving are a daughter Susan and sons Paul (Paula) and Patrick (Michele). Eva left behind a legacy of family including grand-children Benjamin, Sarah, Nicholas, Jacob, and Jude as well as one great-grandchild Riley. Also surviving are siblings Marie, Joe, Sam (Linda), Steve (Donna), and Michael (Francine.)

She was married to Paul T. Irwin who preceded her in death in 2000 after sharing 42 years of marriage and was also preceded in death by siblings Angela, Dorothy, Frank, John, and Rick.

Her favorite pastime was watching classic movies, enjoying visits from family, and spending time with and caring for her grandchildren. She takes with her a near-encyclopedic knowledge of movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood and spoke often of her childhood memories of seeing films in the numerous theaters of 1940’s downtown Altoona.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on November 15, 2023 in the Stevens Memorial Chapel, 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, led by the Franciscan Fathers.
