Frank J. Berger Oct. 23, 1937-Feb. 1, 2021

Frank J. Berger, 83, Altoona, passed away Monday at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Frank X. and Josephine (Dietrich) Berger. Frank married Eleanor Ann Lytle on Jan. 9, 1965. Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years; his children: Frank C. (Shyloah) Berger of North Port, FL, John D. Berger of Altoona, Mary Ellen Berger of Houston, TX and Nancy Berger of Orlando, FL; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kazes. Frank was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School, he then joined the United States Marine Corp. He retired from Conrail and was a former member of the German American Veterans Club. There will be no visitation or services at this time. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Frank's memory to, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona. To arrange for masses, contact St. Mary’s Rectory.
