Obituary For Frank J. Muhlbauer

Frank J. Muhlbauer July 24, 1947-Jan. 4, 2023

Frank J. Muhlbauer, 75, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at the Cambria Care Center in Ebensburg. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Obernader) Muhlbauer. Frank married Debra Kirsch (Green) on June 14, 2003. Frank is survived by his wife, Debra; his two sons: Douglas M. Muhlbauer (Yoko) of Northville, MI and Keith P. Muhlbauer (Christy) of Shelby, NC; two stepdaughters: Lisa Lane (Buddy) of Elmora and Susan Kirsch (Mike) of St. Benedict; two grandchildren: Basho and Taishi Muhlbauer; four step-grandchildren: Darrell, Sarah, Michael and Max; as well as two brothers: Albert Muhlbauer (Ruth Ann) of Fairfax Station, VA and Joseph Muhlbauer of Altoona and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and St. Francis University. Frank retired from McCartney’s Office Supply as the Warehouse Manager. He was a member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Unter Uns Society, Buccinese Society and the Swiss Club. Frank was an avid Bocce player and for many years umpired softball. Friends will be received from 3-6 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Pleva, celebrant. Committal will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
