Frank P. Massimilla

Frank P. Massimilla, 95, Altoona, passed away Saturday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

Frank was born in Cresson, son of the late Paul and Fortunato (Nicoletti) Massimilla. On September 3, 1955 he married Elsie T. Sepp who preceded him in death on October 14, 2021.

He is survived by three sons: John (Kelle) of Chambersburg, Mark of Altoona and Joseph (Kelly) of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren: Kristin, Sara, Brian, Sam and Tom; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Campagna and a brother, Antonio Massimilla.

Frank was a graduate of Cresson High School and Zeth Business School. He was a US Army Veteran.

He retired as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service and previously had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Frank enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, PA 16602 where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Ave., Altoona, PA 16602 in Frank’s memory.

To the family of Frank Massimilla, our family was so blessed to have your father as our Mailman, he was the dearest. When my kids were little and they would see him coming with our mail they were all so excited. We had to have a drink for him, and homemade cookies. I woul always give him extra so he could give some to his wife. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
