Freda I. “Bookie” Luciano Nov. 17, 1947-Oct. 28, 2021

Freda I. Luciano, 73, of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at UPMC Passavant McCandless in Pittsburgh. She was born in Altoona the daughter of the late Frederick and Irene (Plummer) Schumacher. Freda married Randall J. Luciano on March 9, 1985 in Altoona. Freda is survived by her loving husband; two daughters: Penny (Kevin) Bush and Stephenie M. Upstill (John Beaver) all of Altoona; a son, Stephen M. (Kara) Grum of Oregon; six grandchildren: Patrick and Matthew Bush, Kirstin and Katelynn McGirk, Daulton Upstill, Mitella Parris; four great-grandchildren: Damien Johnson, Carter Morrison, Brylee and Ashlynn Sisler; a brother, David Schumacher of Altoona; three sisters: Jean Delancey and Mary Kay Ferris of New Jersey and Susan Plank of Altoona. She was preceded in death by six of her siblings. Freda had worked for Weis Markets for several years, but ultimately loved being home and taking care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Freda also liked taking care of and spending time with her cats. Friends will be received from 10-11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wed., Nov. 3, 2021 in the Stevens Memorial Chapel by Chaplain Danny Grabill. Interment will be held at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
