Obituary For Garry L. Humphrey

Garry L. Humphrey

December 6, 1947-April 16, 2025

Garry L. Humphrey, 77, of Altoona passed away Wednesday evening at Midtown Oaks Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Thomas and Mary Jo (Hoover) Humphrey.

Garry is survived by his siblings: John Humphrey and Winifred Humphrey both of Altoona and Rosann Bauman of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Christine Mozi of Altoona; his nieces, Mary Humphrey and Caitlin Mielnik; also, one great nephew, Isaiah Long.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Humphrey.

Garry was a 1965 graduate of Altoona High School.

He worked for many years at Slinky Corporation.

Garry was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and had been a former member of the Bavarian Aid Society.

He enjoyed playing cards and the lottery, was an avid sports fan and liked to garden, but he especially loved spending time with his family.

There will be no visitation or services per Garry’s request.

Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions be made in Garry’s memory to: Grane Hospice Care, 115 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
