Gerald A. “Allen” Hughes, Jr.

Gerald A. “Allen” Hughes, Jr., 54, of Altoona, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, the son of Gerald A. Hughes (Bonnie), Sr. and the late Elaine (Slates) Hughes.

He is survived by his three sons: Justin Lang, Jarod Hughes and Jonathon Lego all of Altoona; his significant other, Trisha Pelton; three siblings: Dave Morgan, Tammy Hughes and Lisa Good; and nieces and nephews: Tyler Hughes, Savon McCall, Kaitlyn Mauser, Damien Brooks and Rachael Beagle.

Allen was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Hanlon.

He was a 1989 graduate of Altoona Area High School and had worked for the Altoona Mirror as the mail room foreman for 34 years.

Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, video games and watching sports.

Friends will be received from 4-6 pm, Friday, October 3, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. in the Stevens Memorial Chapel.
