Obituary For Gloria "Jean" Warner

Gloria “Jean” Warner

June 29, 1940-January 21, 2024

Gloria “Jean” Warner, 83, Altoona, passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on Sunday at UPMC Altoona.

Jean was the daughter of Joseph Anson and Octavein (Campbell) Shoenfelt. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 57 years, Charles A. Warner, who passed on June 13, 2018.

She is survived by her children: Douglas Warner (Tricia) and Rebecca McNair (Rob); her grandchildren: Brandon Long (Lexi Leonard) and Anna Gerlesky (Chris) and two cousins that were like brothers to her from childhood through now, Dennis Shoenfelt and Ronald Shoenfelt (Sharon) all of Altoona.

Anyone who knew Jean, was blessed by her sweetness and generosity. Family was her most treasured gift. She had a love for animals but had a special soft spot for cats. Her special black cat, “Shadow” will miss her gentle affection and care.

Jean was a member of Llyswen United Methodist Church. The family is at peace knowing that Jean has been accepted into the Kingdom of Christ and is now reunited with the love of her life, Charlie.

She loved working outside in her garden beds, watching soap operas and scary movies, shopping and decorating her house for the holidays. Jean was very proud of her family and loved to brag about her children and grandchildren to anyone that would listen.

Friends will be received from 1-4 pm on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken Snyder. Interment will be held at a later date at Alto Reste Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

As a long-time animal lover, please consider contributing to a pet rescue organization of your choice in Jean’s memory.
